The ODBC Data Source Administrator configures a DSN (Data Source Name) file. The DSN file contains metadata describing how the ODBC service can connect to source data such as a source database.

WARNING:   Windows Server 2008 and 2012

There are 32 and 64 bit versions of System DSN's.
The 64 bit version of ODBC Data Source Administrator will not display 32 bit System DSNs and visa-versa. 32 & 64 bit versions may show different lists of System Data Sources under the System DSN tab.

Do Not Use to Connect to the Data Warehouse

To connect to a DataSelf data warehouse use the ETL's SQL Server Connection window.

What about using the data warehouse as a data source for "staging data" - as when we need to import tables from the data warehouse in order to process it more with the ETL? Is a second Data Source Name Required and is that could that be configured here?
