DSA Server, when installed for simple intranet usage with few users, can be installed where IIS is running. It will redirect its port to port 8000 (by default) and the users will have add that to their URL address for logins. Having the port be 8000 also creates extra steps when uploading Out of the Box reports to DSA Server.

DSA Web Server is a Tableau OEM software. Tableau does not officially support DSA Web Server on an Windows installation where MS IIS or other web server applications are running. However, DataSelf has successfully deployed it for several clients in such an environment.

In such environments, DSA Web Server will be forced to redirect its connections to port 8000 (instead of the default port 80) and users need to append :8000 to their DSA Web Server URL address (ex.: http://myserver:8000). Port 8000 also requires extra steps when uploading out of the box reports to DSA Web Server.

We highly recommend deploying DSA Web Server in a dedicated environment (such as a VM) free of IIS and other applications that might use port 80.
